Man charged with attempted murder in NW Miami-Dade stabbing, report says

A suspect accused of stabbing a man in Northwest Miami-Dade was arrested on Friday, authorities said.

Ian Reed, 31, was charged with attempted first-degree murder with a deadly weapon.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, on July 3, deputies arrived at 16400 NE 3rd Ave. after receiving reports of a man who sustained at least seven stab wounds.

An arrest report said that the victim said the suspect’s street name was Niko, and he was then taken to the hospital for treatment.

As detectives continued to investigate, “Niko” was identified as Reed, and weeks after the victim was stabbed, a vehicle was stopped on Northeast 157th Street and 6th Avenue, and Reed was seen in the back seat, the report said.

Reed was then arrested.
