Is this the year Bayern Munich win European silverware?
The trajectory that the German champions have taken is rather promising. Under manager Vincent Kompany, the past two seasons have shown that Bayern are willing to put up their best on the pitch for trophies. In his first season, an awful injury crisis led to a 4-3 aggregate loss to finalists Inter Milan in the quarterfinals. Last season, it was Paris Saint-Germain who beat them 6-5 on aggregate in the semifinals before going on to win the UCL for a second year in a row.
Looking at this year, Bayern are mostly injury-free so far. The hopes remain high, that 2027 will be the year the UCL trophy returns to Munich.
