Dark matter is legendary. It’s given credit for possibly explaining how the universe works, but we’ve never been able to actually identify it, until now – maybe.
On Tuesday, excitement was high in the science community, especially in the Bay Area, due to a possible dark matter discovery.
Among the researchers spending decades searching for dark matter are those working at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in Menlo Park. They say it’s early – after all, they’re looking for something that’s invisible – but if what they found truly is dark matter, it could open up a lot of new science.
