The era of Jürgen Klopp has begun. Germany have just announced an extended 44-man squad for the upcoming international break. Bayern Munich emerge as the club team with the most representation, with no less than nine separate callups, but the rest of the Bundesliga receives its fair share of representation.
The full list of callups is broken into two squads. Squad 1 will play against Netherlands and Greece, while Squad 2 will play against Serbia and and the return game vs Greece. Here are all the names, broken down by their listed positions (per the official announcement):

Analysis
It seems clear that Squad 1 is essentially a “first team” or “A team” representing the more established players in the setup. This tells us important things. For example, we now know that ter Stegen is indeed going to be the first choice goalkeeper for the near future, while Kai Havertz remains the preferred option at striker.
It also tells us that certain players, despite having a difficult World Cup, retain the trust of the coach. Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich are the biggest beneficiaries, with the latter likely to keep the captain’s armband.
Squad 2 mainly comprises youngsters and less-established players. The exceptions would be Aleksandar Pavlović and Florian Wirtz, both of whom were starters at the last World Cup. It seems that Klopp feels that these two have not done enough to earn their place in the “A team” and will test them out in a separate setup to see how they fit.
Meanwhile, notable omissions include VfB Stuttgart striker Deniz Undav and former FC Bayern winger Leroy Sané. If these two could not make it into an expanded squad, then there is little chance they might claw their way back into the coach’s good graces, barring exceptional performances at the club level.
