A large crane collapsed through a house in Bergen County late Thursday morning, stretching across that property to the neighboring house, where it also crashed through the roof, Chopper 4 footage showed.
The River Vale homeowner says she had planned to put the house on the market next week.
No injuries were reported. A cat, though, was rescued.
According to those with knowledge of the case, the crane was at the site to remove a tree. One of the legs went into a concrete seepage tank underground, which caused it to flip over.
Chopper 4 showed the crane slicing across and down a section of the house on Sunnyhill Terrace. The truck holding it is flipped on its side. Multiple emergency response vehicles were at the scene.
The homeowner says the tree removal company has offered to pay for the repairs.
