One person was shot early Friday while three people attempted to rob them in Miami-Dade, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies responded to the area of Northwest 95th Street and Southwest 5th Avenue at around 1:55 a.m.
According to a preliminary investigation, three unidentified armed subjects arrived in a red SUV before they demanded property from the victim.
The subjects, armed with a rifle and handguns, shot the victim as they attempted to flee, striking them in the upper body, authorities said.
The subjects then fled the area in the SUV, MDSO says.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said it responded to the scene and flew the victim to Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition. Officials said they also treated another patient, but not for a gunshot wound. It was not clear how this person may have been injured or if they were involved in the shooting.
MDSO Robbery Bureau detectives have assumed the investigation.
