An altercation between a referee and a spectator at a youth football game in Philadelphia‘s Roxborough neighborhood on Saturday ended with someone firing a gun, police said.
The incident occurred at around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, outside the Al Pearlman Sports Complex, police said.
An altercation began on the field between a referee and a spectator before it moved into the street, where it escalated into a fight, police said.
At some point, someone fired a gunshot, but it is unclear which person did it, police said.
Video posted to Citizen showed police responding to the scene.
No injuries were reported, but the gunfire caused the altercation to end, police said. Parents also told NBC10 that they ducked for cover and covered their children.
A single shell casing was found at the scene, police said, but no word yet if there were any arrests.
