The Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever are set to square off Sunday at Wintrust Arena, but will DiJonai Carrington participate in the game?
Carrington was ejected from the last game between the teams, as she was assessed a Flagrant 2 foul after she hit Fever guard Sophie Cunningham on a fast-break play.
In Saturday’s injury report, the Sky revealed Carrington is questionable for the game as she deals with a left foot injury, so it’s unclear whether she will be able to suit up for the contest.
Carrington is averaging 10 points and 3.3 rebounds per game so far this season with the Sky, but she did not play in the team’s last game, a 73-70 win over Golden State on Friday.
She will be a game-time decision according to the Sky, who are looking to win their fourth straight game.
On the controversial play in the August 8 game between the teams, Carrington came from behind and hit Cunningham in the head and neck on a fast-break layup, knocking her to the court as the shot went in. The play was reviewed and upgraded to a Flagrant 2 after the referee said there was windup, impact and follow-through on the foul.
Carrington was not suspended for the play.
The Sky and Fever will resume their rivalry at 6 p.m. Sunday, with the game airing on NBC Chicago.
