Woman and child bitten by dogs in Dania Beach, deputies say

A woman and her child were taken to the hospital after being bitten by dogs in Dania Beach on Friday, deputies said.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, at around 6:35 p.m., deputies arrived near the 2700 block of Griffin Road after receiving reports of an animal bite.

As deputies investigated the incident, the dogs were found, and Broward County Animal Care also arrived at the scene.

BCAC said the child remains in the ICU, and the mother sustained serious injuries while she was protecting her child.

The dogs belonged to the woman’s fiancé, and they were inside a residence.

They have since been taken and are in BCAC’s custody.

An investigation into the incident remains active.
