Child hospitalized after being struck by vehicle in Fort Lauderdale, police say

A child was taken to the hospital on Saturday after he was struck by a vehicle in Fort Lauderdale, police said.

According to Fort Lauderdale Police, officers arrived at the 500 block of Southwest 27th Avenue after receiving reports of 8-10-year-old boy had been struck.

At the scene, officers found the boy and the vehicle that was involved.

The boy was then taken to the hospital by fire rescue crews in an unknown condition.

As an investigation into the crash remains active, the 500 block of Southwest 27th Avenue in both directions has been closed.

No arrests were made.
